up so they can be placed on a hook without bursting them. The curing process

manufactures a line of synthetic baits called “Gulp!” that are made from
water-based resins and plastic. The water-based formula releases scent quicker
than PowerBait. Berkley Gulp soft plastic fishing lures are manufactured
using a biodegradable plastic that is impregnated with a fish-attracting
scent. Berkley Gulp endures multiple fish strikes, which allows it to last
longer than live bait and Berkley claims that the scent technology used in
Gulp soft plastic lures out-fish live bait. When you are finished fishing for
the day, Gulp lures are stored in the package and reusable during your next
fishing trip. This reduces the amount of time spent purchasing live bait and
keeping the bait alive between fishing trips.

This generation
of Gulp technology is called Gulp Alive. The baits themselves are designed of
a special soft material that is capable of absorbing and holding the Gulp
liquid better than normal soft plastic baits. Gulp Alive can hold or absorb
20% more scent than Gulp, which in return disperses more scent. This material
allows the ability to recharge the bait. It also allow the storage of the
Gulp Alive bait after it is used. Another advantage of the softer material
that Gulp Alive is made of is that it has a better swimming action than the
previous generations of PowerBait and Gulp. And finally, the third advantage
is that Gulp Alive will last longer, or go farther than using real bait.
